The Troubadour

West Hollywood's Troubadour is where the Laurel Canyon scene went to be heard. Joni Mitchell played there. So did half the songwriters who ended up living up the hill from her. It's a small room with an outsized amount of music history in it.

In the novel, it's one of the rooms where Beka gets close enough to the music world to see what it actually costs.
