Lookout Mountain

Lookout Mountain Avenue, tucked into Laurel Canyon, is where Joni Mitchell really lived while she was writing some of the songs that later became Blue. It isn't a plaque-and-gift-shop kind of landmark — it's a quiet residential street that happens to have once held one of the most important songwriting rooms in American music.

Anat visited and filmed there while working on the novel — mailboxes, front steps, the ordinary texture of a street that used to be extraordinary.
